A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by NYX Cosmetics (yes – that huge makeup brand) and they asked me (yes, little old me) if I’d like to be their guest blogger for the month of April. I couldn't believe they’d even considered my blog worthy let alone picked me when there’s so many other fabulous blogs out there, ahhh. Of course I said yes (after letting out a little squeal of joy) and they told me I’d be sent four of their products in the shades of my choice to test and review here on my blog. I was very excited about this as all NYX products I've used in the past have been fantastic quality for such an affordable price. I’m going to review the products I was sent in two separate posts, both featuring two products. My first post is going to be all about their ‘Ultra Pearl Mania’ Loose Pearl Powder in the shade ‘Mink Pearl’ and their Xtreme Lip Cream in the shade ‘Buttery Nude’. I've been testing both of these products since receiving them a couple of weeks ago and I thought I’d give you a little summary and mini review of each.

[ 'Ultra Pearl Mania' Loose Pearl Powder – ‘Mink Pearl’ (£2.50)* ]
If you've read my blog for a while, you'll know that I'm a huge fan of a bit of shimmer. When it comes to eyeshadow, I like it to stand out and matte shades just don't work well for me. With this being said, enter the NYX loose pearl powder - everything a girl like me could want from an eyeshadow and more. Don't be put off by the teeny bottle, this super pigmented and highly metallic pigment packs a serious shimmery punch. Upon first swatch, I fell in love. Not only is this powder exceptionally smooth and buttery but the pigmentation and opaque metallic finish is second to none. You only need a teeny bit to achieve full opaque coverage so although the bottle is small, it will last a very long time. I chose the shade 'Mink', a nice neutral bronze shade (you all know how I love a gold and bronze smoky eye) and its a very good dupe for my all time favourite eyeshadow MAC Woodwinked - Amazing! Seriously, this stuff is beautiful and I now want to order every single shade NYX have on offer. For £2.50, this little bottle of prettiness is one hell of a bargain!

[ Xtreme Lip Cream – ‘Buttery Nude’ (£6.50)* ]
I don’t even know where to begin describing my love for this tube of lip goodness. Much like the infamous Rimmel Apocalips, this Lip ‘cream’ isn’t a lipstick, nor is it a lip gloss – its somewhere in between. NYX describe it as a 'cream' and I think that sums it up perfectly. Much like the Pearl Powder its buttery, creamy and amazingly pigmented. As you can see in the swatch above, one swipe has created full opaqe coverage. The shade I chose was 'Buttery Nude' which I'd describe as a deep peach/neutral shade, great for every day wear or when paired with a dramatic eye. In terms of staying power, these really do last. Upon application its creamy, smooth and glossy and as it wears off (after a couple of hours) it leaves a nice stain on lips. The only down side about this product is that it clings to imperfections fairly easily. However, as long as you exfoliate your lips before application, it will look beautiful. These cost £6.50 each which is very reasonable and the colour selection is fabulous. I've got my eye on 'Peach Fuzz' for the summer, its so pretty!

I absolutely love both of these products, they're very high quality and very affordable. I can't wait to go and have a splurge on more of their products now. Uh oh, this may of sparked a new makeup obsession. Damn you NYX!

Both of them are available to buy here on the NYX UK website and if you like their Facebook page here and leave a comment with your favourite NYX product, you'll receive a discount off your next order. Yippeee!

Have you ever tried any NYX products? Which are your favourites?
